Information Governance

Hytec helps our customers ensure that appropriate measures are in place to protect sensitive information and advises on the secure sharing of data between peer organisations

Overview

When it comes to understanding the compliance requirements your organisation needs to adhere to in order to carry out your day to day tasks, Hytec has considerable knowledge in this area.

As trusted advisors to Socitm, ADASS, NHS Connecting for Health (CfH), Capital Ambition (previously London Connects), our ISO 27001 information management accreditation and our CLAS Consultancy, you can rest assured that your are receiving the best possible and most up to date information, allowing your business processes to evolve in line with your requirements.

Having worked with public sector organisations for over 30 years, we understand that each organisation is unique in its working practices and no one policy or procedure will provide a correct fit for every company.

That’s why we take the time to get to know your organisation and the people that work in it; ensuring that the advice we give you really works with the way you work and most importantly, keeps you compliant.

Our range of services encompass the whole information governance spectrum: from an initial gap analysis scoping, policies and procedures creation, management of the N3 IG Toolkit submission or GCSx CoCo, right up to the placement of one of Hytec’s Information Assurance consultants into your organisation on an interim basis. Whatever your needs are, our friendly and consultative approach will allow you to feel confident in your organisations’ information security policies and procedures.

GCSx

GCSx is the Government Connect Secure Extranet and allows Local Authorities and other GSi connected organisations to access and exchange data securely, including personal data on citizens. Hytec’s Information Governance team has lots of experience to draw on from working with Local Authorities to obtain initial connection and fulfil the Code of Connection (CoCo) process for continued access.

PSN

The Public Services Network (PSN) is designed to create a ‘network of networks’ for public sector organisations with the intention of producing significant cost savings through better communication between Central Government, Local Authorities and the Third Sector organisations. There will be a Code of Connection (CoCo) for PSN, similar to the current GCSx CoCo, and it is expected that some bodies will join the PSN Framework in early 2011.

Hytec’s team of Technical and Information Assurance consultants are able to advise on the most practical way to go about these changes and to help your organisation join the PSN Operating Framework in the most cost-effective manner.

NHS N3

Our range of services covering the NHS’ N3 network encompass those that ‘get you started’ and those to ‘keep you going’. We can manage the entire process, from the initial application to CfH, right through to your connection going live. We can even host your connection at our Remote Management Centre; something that’s particularly valuable to NHS business partners. To ‘keep you going’, we can handle your annual IG Toolkit submission, update your policies and procedures in line with any organisational changes and carry out regular audits to ensure that your organisation is at the forefront of best practice at all times.

Policies and Governance

It is the responsibility of every employee in the organisation to ensure sensitive information remains safe, and this can only take place if there are adequate procedures and policies in place to govern the sharing and transmission of this data, both internally and externally.

Hytec works with a vast range of private and public sector organisations to formulate procedures and policies that are suited to the activities and structure of the organisation, and helps to keep these policies and procedures current in line with technological, statutory and business developments.
