RSA's
SecurID® is based on two-factor authentication,
i.e. it is based on something you know (a password
or PIN) and something you have (an authenticator).
This provides a much more reliable level of user
authentication than reusable password.
An
RSA SecurID authenticator functions like an ATM
card for your network, requiring users to identify
themselves with two unique factors before they
are granted access.
