Token Authentication

Authentication is a mechanism for verifying the identity of a user.  A form of network security, authentication systems grant access (or authorisation) privileges to specific users.

Token authentication is based on the use of physical devices, for example a portable USB device (the size of an average house key).

Two-factor authentication, a stronger security mechanism, is based on something you know (for example, a password or PIN) and something you have (for example, a physical authenticator).

Hytec has considerable experience in integrating authentication systems and can advise customers on the most appropriate technology for their organisation.
