Local Authorities

Local authorities are adopting a 'joined up' approach to delivering services, Hytec works with forward-thinking organisations to achieve this

Hytec works with ICT managers of Local Authorities to achieve transformation objectives in the areas of IT security consultancy, sharing information through the integration of disparate systems, mobilisation of the workforce, and managed IT services and hosting.

OLM Group, our parent organisation, provides the CareFirst case management solution to adults and children’s services functions in 87 Local Authorities.

We are active in ensuring secure connectivity and managing the network infrastructure and applications environment in many of these Authorities. We also provide data and information sharing solutions between CareFirst and applications held by other agencies.

Our mobile applications team has developed Integral mForms®, a Mobile Enterprise Application Platform (MEAP), with an integrated Rapid Application Development (RAD) toolset for creating and prototyping new mobile applications swiftly and efficiently, which is now in use in many authorities.

In addition, the team is responsible for Care Mobile, the mobilisation capability within the CareFirst solution portfolio, and also undertakes turnkey development projects (often with a high requirement for data sharing across disparate applications) on behalf of different Authorities.



Although technology is constantly developing, our teams have strong, collaborative relationships with most of the sector’s leading suppliers.

As the infrastructure products and services arm of OLM Group, we benefit from domain knowledge and shared experience with colleagues elsewhere in the company.

As well as the Group’s strength in working with the social care functions of local authorities, we are able to work with other departments that have a requirement for our products and services, such as highways, environmental health and housing, and in particular, in gaining compliance to GCSx and N3 and other aspects of information governance.

This is demonstrated by our accreditations, including ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 27001 for information security management.
